I feel compelled to dispel at least some of the idiocy that abounds in the media coverage and resulting commentary regarding the shooting spree that took place in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday.
One particularly irritating piece of insanity is the use of the term “suspect” in the related news stories. When somebody is caught on video camera(s) in the act of shooting and killing or wounding people, and admits to doing it, he is NOT a suspect! There is no mystery or uncertainty. It is a fact of reality – from the direct perceptions of many people – including some who bravely subdued the bastard, some of his victims – who are lucky enough to be alive and conscious, and of course the digital record on the video camera(s).
The man, who looks a bit like Zippy the Pinhead, is the known and guilty perpetrator of the crime. He is a murderer, an assaulter, a disturber of the peace, etc. Of course, he still must receive a fair trial, at which valuable information may surface regarding other cases or shed light on other situations – even conspiracies. Once the man is convicted, then a new term may properly be applied to his resume: “convicted” murderer. Be clear, though, that there are valid occasions to pitch the term “suspect” prior to conviction in a court of law. Because of the complete lack of uncertainty, this is such a case.
Another piece of insanity is the rush to label this bozo as somebody who attempted assassination. This term is useful only as a historical distinction – it has no proper legal value in a rational society. Somebody who commits murder is already the lowest of the low, and should properly be executed. Whether a perpetrator murders one victim, or two, or twenty, is irrelevant as the judge and jury deliver the verdict. The result of murder – in a rational society – is execution, speedy I might add (after a reasonable waiting period for appeal and any potentially mitigating circumstances to become known).
This perpetrator, due to the overwhelming evidence and mounting testimony against him, should be tried and convicted within the next couple of months. He may appeal, I suppose, but it should be granted and scheduled in record short time, so that we, Society, don’t have to waste any further resources keeping this sick dog alive.
Wolf Blitzer, and any other talking head or analyst at CNN or Mainstream Media outlet who believes that because Zippy’s targeted victim is a legislator that the crime should be given the heightened status of “attempted assassination,” is an idiot. This is an insult to the other victims, dead and alive, as well as to all of us, citizens of equal standing in the United States of America. The lovely, and I hope healing, legislator who was the primary target is no more and no less worthy of protection by our government. Her life is worth no more and no less than yours or mine.
The Mainstream Media love to whip up a frenzy, though, so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that Wolf and company did this. Attempted murder and murder are not heinous and extreme enough for them; they need to throw gasoline on the fire and promote the evil of the crime to assassination.
My verdict: Zippy is GUILTY. He attempted to murder 1 person. That alone gets him a low-caliber bullet* to the head in my book. All the rest of his horrible crime spree is just further proof and damning evidence that he needs to be issued an ‘exit visa’ to Reality.
P.S. The related stories on the 2nd Amendment and the use of “cross-hair” and “target” icons on political websites are just further proof and damning evidence that the Mainstream Media are missing the point.
* A low-caliber bullet is the cheapest way to dispatch the refuse of society.

Love it Ben. Good job. Call me when the kids leave town.
Thanks, Rory. I had a feeling you’d like this one.
